Fiorellino Pasta
Fiorellino (Italian for “small flowers”) are tiny extruded pasta shapes that look like flowers. I was inspired to design a meadow-like setting for the pasta, through a fine dining interpretation of my mom’s Vietnamese beet soup. In the center of this nourishing dish is a rosette of root vegetables surrounding a potato medallion, topped with a dollop of cream, herb dust, and edible flowers.
I had proposed the idea of a pasta challenge several years ago to RenderWeekly, and we finally launched it for Spring 2025 with myself as the guest 3D Artist. We challenged the audience to design and render a pasta shape over the course of four weeks with consideration for it's manufacturability.
Unlike previous challenges on RenderWeekly, this one had an emphasis on art direction. Many entries turned out quite delicious for the eyes!
I created a set of visuals to help launch this pasta challenge and inspire the audience to have fun going out of the box with what they design, and how they visualize it.
